Modbus register poller for Windows

Watch holding registers, input registers, coils and discrete inputs change in real time, in the format the device uses, and keep the result.

Several windows, one connection

Each poll window has its own slave ID, function (01 to 04), start address, quantity and scan interval. All of them share the single Modbus connection, TCP or serial, so you can monitor the process values, the alarm words and the settings of a device side by side. Values that change are highlighted, which makes a fast-changing register easy to spot in a long list.

Formats, names and labels

Choose among 12 display formats in four byte and word orders per cell, per selection or for the whole window. Give a cell a name by typing it or pasting a column from Excel, and add value labels such as 1=Running so that a status word reads like a status. Names are carried into charts, log headers and print-outs.

Colors and rules

Color a cell or set its font by address. Two conditional rules per cell (equal, greater, less, greater or equal, less or equal, and a combination with and) are evaluated on the live value, so a temperature can turn red above a limit. Rule 1 wins when both match, and everything is saved with the workspace.

Live charts

Every poll window can open its own live chart (F9) with up to 16 values and a window of 5 seconds to an hour. Cell names become the legend, and you can pause the chart or clear it.

Log, print and keep your setup

Log the polled values to CSV or Excel (.xlsx), with the cell names in the header row. Open a print preview of any window. A workspace file (.bsw) stores the connection, windows, formats, names, colors, charts and the auto-connect option, so the whole monitoring setup returns with one file.

Typical uses

During commissioning you check that the registers a PLC, drive or meter publishes move the way you expect. During a long test you log values for hours and open the file in Excel afterwards. In support you save the workspace and send it to a colleague, who then sees exactly the same windows, formats and names on their own computer.

Find out what a device offers

If you do not know which addresses a device implements, the Register Probe reads an address range in blocks and reports the ranges that answer and the ranges that return an illegal-address exception. Use it to build the first poll windows.
